  • Price 599 USD per employee per month

Deel says it owns entities in more than 130 countries, which puts it among the largest owned networks of any EOR provider. Its published EOR fee of USD 599 per employee per month is in line with the other large platforms, and contracts run month to month. It suits companies hiring both contractors and employees across several countries. Before signing, get the deposit amount and FX markup in writing, confirm that no offboarding fee applies, and check which of your countries run through a partner rather than a Deel entity.

  • Price 699 USD per employee per month

Remote employs your staff through entities it owns in every country where it offers EOR, and its terms leave indemnities for EOR services uncapped, so it ranks well on compliance. The cost is a list fee of USD 699 per employee per month, and the margin in its monthly FX rate is not published. Standard terms can be cancelled on 30 days' notice, but an order form with a minimum contract value commits you for its full term and renews at a higher price. Shortlist it if owned entities in every country matter most to you, and get the FX margin and any order form terms in writing before you sign.

Employment contracts

Every worker in Bangladesh must receive a written appointment letter and a photo identity card, and the EOR issues both as the legal employer. Your company signs a separate service agreement.

The letter sets out role, basic wage and allowances in BDT, working hours, leave and notice. The EOR is the counterparty to the employee, which is what removes the need for your own entity.

Post-termination non-competes are generally void under the Contract Act, so rely on confidentiality and IP assignment clauses instead.

Temporary contracts are permitted for genuinely temporary work, but using them for an ongoing role risks the employee being treated as permanent, and most EORs default to permanent terms.

Probation

Probation in Bangladesh is fixed by law at six months for clerical roles and three months for other roles. A worker who completes probation becomes permanent automatically, even without a confirmation letter.

Set probation from day one. Only a skilled worker's probation can be extended, by a further three months, and only where performance genuinely could not be assessed.

Probation already served counts if the same employer rehires someone within three years, which matters if you bring a former employee back through the same EOR.

Working time and overtime

The standard week is 48 hours, at 8 hours a day. Overtime is paid at twice the ordinary rate, and total hours cannot exceed 60 in any week.

Overtime is calculated on basic wage plus any dearness allowance, not on gross pay, and hours including overtime must average no more than 56 a week across the year.

Managerial, administrative and supervisory staff fall outside the statutory worker definition, so for them overtime becomes a contractual matter. Since the 2026 amendments the test is actual duties, not job title, so put the position in writing either way.

Leave and public holidays

Employees earn one day of paid annual leave for every 18 days worked, plus 13 paid festival holidays. Casual, sick and maternity leave sit on top.

Casual leave is 10 days and sick leave 14 days, both on full pay, so the statutory total is well above the annual leave figure. Budget for the whole stack, not one line of it.

Maternity leave is 120 days on full pay, split evenly before and after the birth, and the employer funds all of it. There is no statutory paternity leave, so confirm what the EOR offers by policy.

Termination and severance

Termination difficulty here is 3 out of 5. Notice for a permanent, monthly-paid worker is 120 days, and statutory compensation of 30 days' wages per year of service is paid on top.

Either side may terminate on notice or pay in lieu. Severance follows a statutory formula rather than market practice: termination without cause, retrenchment and discharge each carry 30 days' wages per completed year, and even dismissal for misconduct can carry 15 days' wages per year.

The EOR runs the process as the legal employer and must settle final pay, unused leave and compensation within 30 days. Dismissal for misconduct needs a written charge and an inquiry, and the Director General of Labour can now order compensation without a court case where a dismissal looks union-related, so keep a documented reason.

Statutory benefits

Bangladesh has no national pension or social security contribution on salaries. The main statutory costs are two festival bonuses a year and, at larger employers, a provident fund and a profit participation fund.

Each festival bonus is capped at one month's basic wage and is due once the employee has a year's service. A provident fund becomes mandatory at 100 or more permanent workers if two-thirds of them ask for one in writing, and that headcount is the EOR's, not yours.

Private medical cover and group life are common for professional roles even though they are not mandatory. Ask what is included in the fee and what is billed on top.

Payroll and tax

Payroll runs monthly in BDT, with wages due within seven working days of the period end. The employer withholds income tax at source on a July to June tax year.

There are no employer social security contributions, so the main add-on is the two festival bonuses, worth up to two months' basic pay a year. That is before the EOR fee.

Basic pay is the trap. Overtime, festival bonuses, provident fund and end-of-service compensation are all calculated on basic wage, so the split between basic and allowances sets most of your liabilities.

Work permits

Foreign hires need an employment visa and a work permit, usually from BIDA, and the sponsoring entity must meet local-to-foreign staffing ratios. Allow 6 to 10 weeks end to end.

Ask whether the EOR sponsors directly or refers to a partner. A partner-model EOR often cannot sponsor at all, and the ratio, roughly five local staff per foreign hire for commercial offices, applies to the sponsor, not to you.

The permit application is filed within 15 days of arrival on the visa, so set start dates after the permit is issued, not on arrival. Foreign staff must also clear tax on their salary before leaving Bangladesh.

Data protection

Employee data is processed under the Personal Data Protection Act 2026, with the EOR acting as controller for employment records and processor for your instructions.

Get the data processing terms in the service agreement, not just the privacy notice. Cross-border transfers carry conditions, and sensitive data such as health and financial records gets stricter treatment.

Ask where payroll data is hosted and who in the partner chain can see it.

When to open your own entity

The usual trigger in Bangladesh is 5 to 15 employees, or a permanent commercial presence. Below that, an EOR is normally cheaper and faster.

Incorporation takes four to eight weeks for a foreign-owned company, and most bring in around 50,000 USD of paid-up capital to support work permit sponsorship. The running cost is the point: two directors, quarterly board meetings, a statutory audit, tax and VAT filings and payroll software set an annual floor.

Permanent establishment risk is about what people do, not where payroll sits. Revenue-generating activity can create exposure regardless of the employment route.

G-P is one of the most compliance-focused EORs available, with over 100 of its own legal entities and a long record in heavily regulated countries. Its list price starts at USD 599 per employee per month, but independent reviewers report higher quotes, a one-off setup fee per hire, a deposit, an FX markup and an offboarding charge. Shortlist it if you’re a larger business that puts compliance ahead of cost, and get the full fee schedule in writing before you sign.

Oyster suits companies that want HR experts, legal support and termination handling included in one EOR fee, along with integrations for the most common HRIS and ATS platforms. The trade-offs are a USD 699 monthly list price, a refundable deposit of about one month's employment cost per hire, and EOR coverage of 120+ countries rather than the 180+ headline. There are no onboarding or offboarding fees, and monthly billing carries no minimum term.

Questions buyers ask about Bangladesh

How much does it cost to employ someone in Bangladesh through an EOR?
Budget the gross salary, plus two festival bonuses a year of up to one month's basic each, plus the EOR fee. There are no employer social security contributions, and published EOR fees sit in the 199 to 699 USD per employee per month band, or a percentage of payroll.
How long does it take to onboard an employee in Bangladesh?
Typically 2 to 7 working days once the candidate has accepted and their national ID and tax identification number are on file. Work permit cases take considerably longer.
Can an EOR terminate an employee in Bangladesh?
Yes. Notice or pay in lieu applies and termination difficulty here is 3 out of 5, but statutory compensation is due on most exits and the EOR will still want a documented reason to limit Labour Court exposure.
Does the EOR need its own entity in Bangladesh?
Someone in the chain must hold a local entity, and only that entity can sponsor a work permit through BIDA. Ask whether the provider owns it or uses a partner, in writing.
