  • Price 599 USD per employee per month

Deel says it owns entities in more than 130 countries, which puts it among the largest owned networks of any EOR provider. Its published EOR fee of USD 599 per employee per month is in line with the other large platforms, and contracts run month to month. It suits companies hiring both contractors and employees across several countries. Before signing, get the deposit amount and FX markup in writing, confirm that no offboarding fee applies, and check which of your countries run through a partner rather than a Deel entity.

RemoteVerified

  • Price 699 USD per employee per month

Remote employs your staff through entities it owns in every country where it offers EOR, and its terms leave indemnities for EOR services uncapped, so it ranks well on compliance. The cost is a list fee of USD 699 per employee per month, and the margin in its monthly FX rate is not published. Standard terms can be cancelled on 30 days' notice, but an order form with a minimum contract value commits you for its full term and renews at a higher price. Shortlist it if owned entities in every country matter most to you, and get the FX margin and any order form terms in writing before you sign.

Employment contracts

Written contracts in Arabic are required in Jordan, and the EOR issues them as the legal employer. Your company signs a separate service agreement.

The contract sets out role, salary in JOD, working hours, leave, notice and any restrictive covenants. The EOR is the counterparty to the employee, which is what removes the need for your own entity.

Arabic is the required contract language. Bilingual Arabic and English versions are common for commercial roles, so agree which text governs.

Fixed-term contracts are permitted. Since the 2025 amendments, work that continues past the end date renews the contract for the same term rather than making it indefinite, so track expiry dates.

Probation

Probation in Jordan is capped at 3 months. Either side can end the contract during probation without notice or compensation, but the terms must be stated in the contract.

Set probation from day one. It cannot be extended, and the same employee cannot be put through a second probation period.

Some EORs shorten probation as policy because they, not you, carry the dismissal risk. Ask before you agree a start date.

Working time and overtime

The standard week is 48 hours over up to six days, with a daily limit of 8 hours. Overtime pay is statutory for everyone except supervisory and managerial staff.

Overtime needs the employee's consent and is paid at 125% of the normal wage, rising to 150% on the weekly rest day and public holidays.

Senior hires often sit in managerial roles outside the working-hours rules, so overtime becomes a contractual matter rather than a statutory one. Put the position in writing either way.

Leave and public holidays

Employees get at least 14 days of paid annual leave, rising to 21 after five years with the same employer, plus roughly a dozen public holiday days. Sick, maternity and bereavement leave sit on top.

Islamic holiday dates follow the lunar calendar and are confirmed by government announcement each year, so build some slack into plans around Eid.

Sick leave is 14 days on full pay a year, with a further 14 paid days for hospitalisation or on an approved medical report. Maternity leave is 90 days on full pay, with the allowance paid through social security maternity insurance, so confirm which side the EOR carries. Fathers get 3 days of paid paternity leave.

Termination and severance

Termination difficulty here is 3 out of 5. Notice is one month in writing for indefinite contracts, and statutory severance is limited for employees covered by social security.

Either side may terminate on notice or pay in lieu. A dismissal that does not fit a ground listed in the law risks being ruled arbitrary, with compensation commonly assessed at half a month's wage per year of service and a two-month minimum.

The EOR runs the process as the legal employer and will want the paperwork in order, including final pay and unused leave. Redundancies need Ministry of Labour approval, and pregnant employees and those on maternity leave cannot be dismissed.

Statutory benefits

Social Security Corporation contributions are the dominant statutory cost and apply to Jordanian and most foreign employees alike. Foreign hires also carry work permit fees on top.

SSC covers old age, disability, death, work injury, maternity and unemployment. Private medical cover, dental and group life are standard for professional roles even though they are not mandatory.

EORs often bundle benefits through a group scheme. Ask what is included in the fee and what is billed on top.

Payroll and tax

Payroll runs monthly in JOD. Income tax is withheld at source by the employer every month, at progressive rates from 5% to 30%.

Employer contributions add 14.25% on top of gross salary, up to the monthly SSC salary ceiling, for local and foreign hires alike. That is before the EOR fee.

Late SSC registration is the trap. Employees must be enrolled from their first day, including expatriates, and the 2026 amendments raised penalties for unpaid contributions, so check the EOR registers before the first payroll run.

Work permits

Foreign hires need a Ministry of Labour work permit and a separate residence permit, and the sponsoring entity must show the role cannot be filled locally. Processing takes 30 to 60 days.

Ask whether the EOR sponsors directly or refers to a partner. A partner-model EOR often cannot sponsor at all, and closed-profession lists, sector quotas and the labour market test apply to the sponsor and the role, not to you.

Set start dates after approval, not before.

Data protection

Employee data is processed under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, with the EOR acting as controller for employment records and processor for your instructions.

Get the data processing terms in the service agreement, not just the privacy notice. Transfers out of Jordan are restricted unless the destination offers adequate protection or an exception, such as explicit consent, applies.

Ask where payroll data is hosted and who in the partner chain can see it.

When to open your own entity

The usual trigger in Jordan is 5 to 15 employees, or a permanent commercial presence. Below that, an EOR is normally cheaper and faster.

A limited liability company is the usual vehicle, but the running cost is the point: a mandatory annual audit, accounting, tax filings and payroll software set an annual floor. Some sectors also cap or bar foreign ownership.

Permanent establishment risk is about what people do, not where payroll sits. Revenue-generating activity can create exposure regardless of the employment route.

G-P is one of the most compliance-focused EORs available, with over 100 of its own legal entities and a long record in heavily regulated countries. Its list price starts at USD 599 per employee per month, but independent reviewers report higher quotes, a one-off setup fee per hire, a deposit, an FX markup and an offboarding charge. Shortlist it if you’re a larger business that puts compliance ahead of cost, and get the full fee schedule in writing before you sign.

The trade-offs are a USD 699 monthly list price, a refundable deposit of about one month's employment cost per hire, and EOR coverage of 120+ countries rather than the 180+ headline. There are no onboarding or offboarding fees, and monthly billing carries no minimum term.

Questions buyers ask about Jordan

How much does it cost to employ someone in Jordan through an EOR?
Budget the gross salary, plus 14.25% in employer social security contributions up to the SSC ceiling, plus the EOR fee. Published EOR fees sit in the 199 to 599 USD per employee per month band, or a percentage of payroll.
How long does it take to onboard an employee in Jordan?
Typically 2 to 7 working days once the candidate has accepted and right to work is confirmed. Work permit cases take considerably longer.
Can an EOR terminate an employee in Jordan?
Yes. One month's written notice or pay in lieu applies and termination difficulty here is 3 out of 5, but the EOR will still want a documented reason that fits the law to limit arbitrary dismissal exposure.
Does the EOR need its own entity in Jordan?
Someone in the chain must hold a local entity, and only that entity can sponsor a work permit. Ask whether the provider owns it or uses a partner, in writing.
